This project addresses the issue of vessel-bridge collisions in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, focusing on critical challenges in bridge protection. These challenges include "collision warning feedback delays, low damage diagnosis accuracy, and suboptimal anti-collision infrastructure." Through international collaborative research, the project integrates cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and digital twin models with bridge structural analysis and engineering mechanics. As a result, the team successfully developed the OBOR Smart Golden Shield System. The innovations derived from this system have led to multiple patents, publications, and software copyrights. Furthermore, the system has been applied and validated in real-world projects, both domestically and abroad, significantly improving the collision resistance and resilience of bridges in complex waterways. This has provided an international smart solution for ensuring the safety of bridge infrastructure along the Belt and Road Initiative.
